ARSENAL READY FOR THE VISIT OF DUNDEE UTD??

So the new season is less than a week away and we caught up with arsenal manage to see if he and his sqd are ready for the first game of the season at home to reigning champions Dundee utd. only 1 major deal has been completed so the sqd is looking much like it did last season where arsenal only managed to stay up by there skin of there teeth while Dundee romped home winning title with ease. so it looks pretty clean cut who will win this one and with pretty much the whole of the Arsenals line already having agreed deals with other clubs its unlikely they will have the passion and the grit to grind out a result.
so here's steves comments:
Hi guys. yes im exited and looking forward to getting back into some footy action. seems like a long time since our last game with Everton and ive had just about enough of transfer negotiations. ive got some top class lads coming in after the game who are all dedicated to making this the greatest season in Arsenals history. but yeah first we much get through this game with Dundee utd witch is always the toughest game of the season. we wont have the likes of ronaldinho lining up for us but ive spoken to the lads and we are all very much still a team until after the match and they have left for there new clubs. every one is leaving on good terms and have a good relation ship with Arsenal football club and my self and would like nothing more than to leave on a high after beating the reigning champions. its goona be tough but I believe in these players and they can pull off a shock at Highbury on Sunday imp sure.

well he seems pretty confidant going into this game but he always does going into most games. I just hope these players want to win as much as Steve does and the 3 vital points are bung home to Highbury

ARSENAL MANAGER PREDICTS PREM SEASON 10

Today at a news conference arsenal manager Steve arscott predicted that arsenal will be crowned prem champions in 4 months times. his comments might be seen as cocky which is nothing new but does he have the amo to back it up. he's defiantly been one of the busiest managers in the league and will have a much changed sqd when match day 2 comes around but has all the transfer activity really been worth it?? the sqd does look strong with ronni leading the front line and defence looks sounder then it ever has with big donde and young starlet Morrison in the very solid back 4. But there is teams out there with much stronger sqds who will be thinking this could well be there season. firstly there is Dundee utd under proven manager Andy grant who will think they are favourites to bag there 5 title and become one of the greatest mangers in pbemff history. Derby county will be hoping this will be there season to recapture the prem crown. they have a very old sqd but the oldies are of the highest quality and manager graham frith rarely goes a season with out silverware and with this season looking to be the last where derby are a force graham will be going out all guns blazing. Middlesbrough are another club who will be gunning for prem glory. manager matt peacock has come very close in the past 2 season and will be hoping this is the time when he takes things one place higher and takes home the prize. another outsider for the title is div1 champions Manchester utd who have spent the last few season building a tidy sqd and now look like a serious threat. manager Jamie Walton also has a wealth of experience and will hope to have an a good season and put right a disappointing season 8. the rest of the premiership is made of westham, Everton and Southampton who will be happy to keep prem status for a further season. Arsenal will feel they fit into the top 4 of that bunch and will pull out all the stops to win the title and forfill all of the fans dreams.

Bradford City have finally had to say goodbye to long term servant Darren Eadie. Eadie signed for Bradford on May 22nd 2004 from Leicester and has played everywhere for the Bantams. Initially used as a striker and an attacking midfielder, Eadie trained hard to become a true allrounder, playing in central midfield, on the wing, as the holding midfielder, wing back as well as in central defence. Eadie joins Euro hopefuls Paris Saint Germain initially on a 1 season loan deal with the option of a 15m full transfer at the end of the loan. Bradford boss Matt Birch paid tribute to Eadie saying "We are all very upset to see Darren leave but it is in the best interests of both parties. Darren wants to dedicate himself to becoming a full time defender and wants to be playing first team football all the time. PSG have offered him that whereas Bradford cannot guarantee him a start and cannot guarantee which position he'll be playing in. We would dearly have loved to keep him here as he's been a key member for so long and is so versatile but it is only fair on the
lad to let him fulfil his potential elsewhere. He goes to France with everyones best wishes."

Arabs gutted at loss.

In the wake of a surprising defeat to Arsenal, Dundee uniteds boss looked bemused, sitting in the press conference.

He had no answer as to why his team had been beaten by arsenal but made a promise to fans that he would do his upmost to get things right. Also in the press conference were Gresko and Nazha who had been injured during the match. The extent of the talented pairs injuries are currently unknown but it is hoped that neither will be too badly injured, this early on in the season. Although they will be missed, it is thought that they will be replaced by maurice malpas and zander diamond who will fit in to the back 5, alongside young john clark.

ARSENAL WELCOME NINE NEW FACES!!

Arsenal today welcomed 9 new faces to Highbury today. some have been here before under arscotts and other not. among the names returning are Moreira of Ajax who also played under Arscott at Benicia as a youngster and Ballack who played while arsenal where in division 1 a few seasons back. other new faces include centre backs Fortuna,Morrison,Marquez and loan signing Hugo. Midfielder Aranburu from Real Soceidad and strikers Ronaldinho and Salva.
All these new faces will be ready and available for the match against rivals man utd along with man utd old boy Sinema who will be looking for revenge after being left in the cold for so long at utd.

These are new and exiting times at arsenal after let another big player was linked with arsenal. this time its Barcelona midfielder Baggio who is thought to have signed a pre contract agreement to join the gunners in a weeks time. if reports are true it will be a massive boost to the midfield as he is regarded as one of the best passers in the game today. reports suggest that the price tag is also very high and arsenal are expected to lost 3 young first team players to acquire his services.

Arabs Strapped of Defenders

Dundee united face a selection headache in the up-coming round of matches with infuencial defender, L_Gresko being out with a 2 week injury. In reserves, united have M_Malpas ready and waiting but it is understood that grant will go with 2 up front and a back 4, changing the system from the previous game.

There are rumours circulating the city of discovery that some stars were feeling unsettled with the new regime at tannadice and this reporter can confirm that a couple of un-named star may well be heading away from tannadice in the near future. It is yet unknown whether this is as a result of a training argument between the stars and gaffer over who ate all the pies. At the time of the flare-up, Mr Jamie Kellett, C.E.O of The british branch of pbemff was seen leaving the area in an old battered ford escort….and crums on his fleecey top.

Ipswich News

Manager Danny is happy that to get a win last week against a newly arrived liverpool manager. It was a tough game and we were lucky to get the goal that S_Thompson got as liverpool dominated the game.
i am not happy about Kewell getting red carded and suspended for the next game against reading he will be talked to privately about the matter but we are happy to have got 3 points in the first game even though it was a scrap.

Now to look forward , we have reading this weekend and no means will it be easy they already have 3 points in the league. hopefully we can come away with the win even without Kewell.

Rebuilding at Pride Park

Derby County are strengthening their squad at the start of the season, and are pleased to announce several new announcements. New striker Joaquin
Botero just landed after a successful scouting trip. He is the top scorer for the Bolivian national squad, and is eager to prove his ability in the UK. However, it looks as though he will be out on loan for his first season
until big DiCanio retires. Also to land is big man Ballack, who returns for a second spell at Pride Park. He will bring welcome defensive midfield
steel. And at the back, Derby are also pleased to announce the arrival of Cannavaro from Inter Milan and Gareth Southgate from Feyenoord, along with
quality backup keeper F.Cool. Overall, Derby are confident that their squad is now stronger than last year in every department, and should enable a
strong push towards regaining the Prem title.

Accountants on strike at Valley Parade

The back office staff at Bradford City today staged a walkout in protest at the unpaid overtime they are having to put in dealing with the transfer frenzy happening at the club. Chief accountant Hal Culator
spoke to the press whilst handcuffed to the bumper on manager Matt Birch's Bentley "It's just ridiculous, we have enough staff to dell with a modest turnover but the man's gone mad. No sooner have we finished the
paperwork for a new player, in comes Birch and tells us he's been sold. It's insane. We spend hours getting permits and tax consessions for players coming in from Europe and the next minute they are up for sale.
In they come - out they go, it has to stop - we just can't cope."

IS ALL SETTLED IN THE ARSENAL CAMP?

Reports in today's paper suggest that all is not settled in the Highbury camp. with new signing such as ronaldinho and baggio at the club there is a risk that ego's could get in the way of football issues. top players at the club where spotted arguing during a training session this week but there names have not been released. with so many big names joining all at once is will obviously take time for them to gel as a unit but this sort of unrest could be very costly at this stage of the season when arsenal cant afford to take their foot of the pedal.
arsenals now has 19 new faces in it and these guys need time to get to know each other before they cant start to perform as a team and show what they are really capable of and im sure given time this will happen but new reports like this can only make things harder for the gaffer.
this is what arscott had to say on the matter:
Hi guy. I feel it is a big shame that reports like these are published. ive spent the entire close season doing my very best to bring in players of the highest quality and some of the best in the world of football and all that gets reported is a small argument between two players. these things happen and happen at every football club in the land and it just shows the desire these boys have to win and be successful here at arsenal football club. im sure the two lads involved will put a 110% in this weeks tie against rangers in the iwc and show how petty all this is. the British press makes me sick. makes me wonder if id be best plying my trade in a different country!!. thank you
well he does not seem to happy with the press stories but im sure he will remain arsenal boss for a long time to come.

Gallacher injured in crucial match

Dundee united goalkeeper, P_Gallacher has been injured in a recent match and it is yet unknown how long the player will be out for. This is a critical blow to the hopes of survival for the tannadice outfit who have already commited to playing the young defender, J_Clark for maximum minutes. It is, as yet, unclear how grant will play the match(es) to minimise its effect but its understood united will be looking for all 3 points in each match that he is out for.

O'CONNOR SIGNS FOR DONS

Aberdeen today announced the signing of 22 year old former hibs striker Gary O'Connor. The player was snapped up after the dons were tipped off that he
had become available. Stu Watson was looking to lower the age of his strikeforce and the scot fits the bill perfectly. In order to finace the deal, back up defender Keith_Lowe was sold to portsmouth for an ndisclosed
fee.

Soutwick's Statement

The Andrew Southwick era began at Stamford Bridge
tonight, and ten man Chelsea recorded a promising draw against last season's Division three champions.

Southwick had stated that plugging the blues leaky
defence was the first of his ambitions and a clean
sheet will have been a welcome sight.

Aberdeen started the strongest but Chelsea were
reeling after ten minutes when they were denied a
stonewall penalty, Barness punching the ball away
inside the area. After that Chelsea settled into their new formation and were holding their own, and were boosted when Aberdeen lost Cruz through injury after falling awkwardly.

The second half was only ten minutes old when Chelsea went down to ten men, new signing from Roma Juninho having a nightmare debut by being sent off for his second bookable offence.

The loss of Juninho only helped to inspire the home
side, and if they weren't frustrating Aberdeen then
they were darting forward in quick skillful attacks
which impressed the Chelsea support.

By the end of it all both sides had to settle for a
share of the spoils, but Southwick was pleased with a
promising start.

"Considering it was our first match, and we played a
lot of the game with a man short, I think we have to
be fairly pleased with that, " said Southwick.

"It's early days for me at Stamford Bridge and
although I havn't had much chance to have a honeymoon period due to constant criticism since day one, I think the fans know that they have to be patient.

"Both sides will feel they can play better than that,
but it gave us a great chance to see how we'll perform
with three youth players in the team and we've taken a
lot from this game."

Dons gaffer Stuart Watson was grateful for the match
in a busy pre-season schedule for his side.

"Last season we did the double over Chelsea, winning
2-1 and 3-2. "Although both were tough games, there's no doubt Chelsea will be even stronger next season under Southwick and I'm just glad I don't have to face him in the league, either with Chelsea or Norwich.

"Personally, I'm shitting myself incase we get them in
one of the cups."

Darren Eadie set to leave Bradford.

Yes, the time has finally come to say goodbye to Big Darren. He came to Bradford as a reserve team striker and will leave as a true super allrounder. The dream was to turn him into a defender and prolong his
career to 36/37 and he's finally made it. Now it is time for somebody else to take him under their wings.
Darren will leave Bradford as a true legend, a true gent and will always have a place in the fans hearts.

Arabs looking to lead the line in all competitions

Dundee united have been tipped by the bookies to win 2 competitions this season. The premiership is away to kick off and the dundee united gaffer is looking to start well and kick off the season against arsenal.

There are no big moves for the tannadice club so far this season but it is thought that young defender, D_Narey is due to go out to a lower league team on loan and H_Leal, finishes an unsuccessful loan period and is being released in a swap deal for A_Hall.

It is also thought that the gaffer is said to be delighted with the iwc draw and is confident of getting through the group stages.

news from pittodrie

" Aberdeen today opened their campaign with a vital 1-0 home win over highly tipped crystal palace. New siging from cardiff C_Jerome scored the only goal
of the game making him an instant hit with the pittodrie faithfull. Both teams set out with fairly defensive line ups but that wasnt the case with both sides creating early chances. Palace seemed rather aggressive and
it showed in the 3rd minute when boyce recieved a caution for a tackle on jerome. Place then produced some fine saves from esson with a couple of
chnaces before winter hit the post. the dons werent to be denied though with debut boy jerome showing great skill before knocking the ball home for the
opener in the 14 th minute. The game then ran from end to end before S_Dean almost scored at the wrong end. the only other real action before half time
saw barness carded for a cynical trip on B_Watson.

The second half saw both teams threaten without really making any chnaces until cruz brought the best out of Speroni in the 63rd minute. A minute later Palacebrought on maakay in abid to snatch something from the game. Aberdeen took hold of the game but couldnt find a way past the resiliant defence. The lively Jerome was again upended in the 75th minute which
produced a yellow for M_Hughes. Palace came within inches of a late equaliser i the 86th when Maakays shot was brilliantly touched onto the post by the impressive esson before hitting his back and going wide. The dons however survived a late corner to grab 3 vital points and get the season off to a flier."

ARSENAL V DUNDEE UTD SHOCKER!!

Many arsenal players where pulling on the arsenal shirts for the very last time for this one and where said by manager Steve arscott to be committed to getting the 3 points arsenal really needed. Arsenal lined up with a 4-3-1-2 formation playing a passing style of football and there was a shock when team sheets where announced that former manager arsene wengers son who shares the same name was put straight into the line up to face the reigning champs. Dundee with all the star players they have lined up with a 5-4-1 formation and tried to catch arsenal on the counter attack which surprised arscott and fans alike who expected Dundee to be quick out the starting blocks.
the game was a pretty uneventful one despite all the hype before hand. the first half was a stale mate with both team trying to get into their stride and make the break through.
but the break through did evenly come in the 56min when vanpersie stepped up to take a penalty and put it away nicely. this had been arsenal only feel chance to score and they took that chance. cudicini had been on top form and he would have to be if arsenal where to hang on to this lead. arsenal had now deployed a much more defensive formation with a striker being taken off for a defender and a more long ball approach taken. it worked perfectly as Dundee's loan striker fail to get a clean cut chance.
match finished 1-0 to arsenal and both manager and fans can be overjoyed with the start the club have made this season.
next up is man utd which is a match arsenal will be more fancied to win and must if there to make a serious title challenge.

Playing with Pride at Pride Park

In this weeks press conference, Derby County manager Graham Frith expressed his desire for his side to play with pride this season. Recently, many
people have maligned the East Midlands club, suggesting that their best days are now behind them and that they are not as good as they used to be. This opinion obviously is not shared by Mr. Frith, who feels that his side are as strong as ever, despite the loss of key players at the end of last season. However, he was willing to admit that it is hard to see passed
Dundee United in terms of a strong squad, whilst there is also going to be good competition from hotly tipped Middlesboro, and even a resurgent Arsenal. Frith expects the title to go to one of those four sides, but
believes that with good management and a little luck, the Premiership trophy could be on its way back to Derby. It would certainly be sweet after last season's second place.

Extreme Make Over Tractor Boys Edition

Ipswich Town have had a facelift this week as many players have moved in and out of the club.
S_Given has gone to Athletico Madrid for the season on loan for 8 million.
Pele the young Lad who was only promoted last season has been sent over to PSV along with a brief case of 6 million pounds in exchange for K_Bogelund , JA_Riise and G_Heinze .
P_Loverkands was recently transfered to Juventus for 30 Million plus Mista.
Mista has now been put out on loan to Newcastle on a free
Rhomadahl has also been loaned out to Bolton in a complicated deal involving his youth D_Beckham16.
Franco_Souza was bought from Ajax for 25 million
F_Varela was bought from Bayern Leverkusen for 11 million and K_Nolan bought for 3.5 million from Bolton.
Also i expect M_Cesar to join us soon from Deportivo in part of a deal last season and we also have A_Casas coming in from Athletico in part of the loan deal

thats all for now folks !

Bradford up, Bradford down.

Up and down is a term readily useable when referring to Bradford City. Not only did they rise from the ashes from the bottom of Division 3 up to the Premiership and then sink like a trace, but in the first two games of Season 10 they thrashed Celtic 4-1 before succumbing to a 0-4 drubbing at the hands of Portsmouth. Things are rarely quiet when it comes to the Bantams.

ARSENAL FAIL TO HIT THE MARK

Arsenal fail to capture all three points this week in there match with man utd. With new signing Ronaldinho finally available for selection after his big move from inter and he was expected to be eager to impress against the much tougher brit wing defences but failed to get as much as a shot on goal. It was a similar story for many of the other arsenal new boys who all failed to impress on there debut. the true star of the season so far has been keeper Cudicini who had been unbeatable in the first two matched keeping two clean sheet in two touch games.
if arsenal are to make a serious title challenge they are gonna seriously gonna have to start finding the net more often and cant rely on cudi and the strong back 4 all season.
Young midfielder D_Bergkamp has also impressed in his first two matches and has been fairly lively in both match and the future could look bright for him if he continues putting the effort in.

Arsenal are still sitting in 2nd place in the league behind surprise leaders Everton but all 4 top clubs are on 4 points. surprisingly enough its reigning champions who sit bottom on 0 points after losing to bitter rivals derby county in game two.

up next for arsenal in iwc action against Rangers in a group which looks extremely tough to say the least and to stand ant chance of progressing they need to beat the weaker sides such as Rangers.

Grant calls for FA investigation

Dundee United’s manager has called for an FA investigation into corruption after his side yet again fall to the hand of ‘fate’. A match that united should again have one was spoiled by goalkeeper P_Gallacher being injured. This follows 2 matches where united have been badly done by. First off was a match with arsenal, who had 1 shot on target to United’s 8, yet they landed up losing – after having the lions share of possession and 2 defenders injured. In the second match we were unlucky against a strong derby outfit.

In a press release yesterday, Grant said ‘It is an increasing problem that it is not in the interests of those in power that Dundee United win the league again while big teams like Derby and Middlesborough flounder. This is why I am so sure that there is some jiggery pokery from the highest level of pbemff. Prior to our match against Juve, I witnessed, the Kellet brothers enter the referees room, which one can only assume they were giving him ‘advise’. It is with the greatest sadness that I have to call for the independent review of recent events. We at the club have noticed that every season after being league winners, we always start with a horrific chain of events such as huge suspensions, red cards and injuries and this season is no different. From the 3 games this season my players have been dealt 6 yellow cards – from a team that consistently plays 10 agg. – things do not add up and I want to know what is wrong. From winning the league with record margins to having key injuries and players picking up bookings left right and centre. I do not know how much longer I can let my players suffer at the hands of assassin-esque players and corrupt referees. I myself am being victimised by the establishment and may need to move away to Europe or somewhere else in the world so I can go about my business without the constant harassment given out in the UK.
