ARSENAL MANAGER CLEARED

Arsenal manager Steve Arscott was today cleared of all charges over the alleged tapping up of players. accusations where thrown around by various managers with in the pbemff world that Arscott had been illegally approaching players with out the players permission. It came to light after Tobias Stronge of Inter Milan made a official complaint about Arscott last week over the deal concerning euro striker of the season Ronaldinho. He suggested that Arscott had spoke to Ronny and perswayed him to put in a transfer request so that Arsenal could snap him up at a cut down price

The F.A could not find any evidence of this being true apart from a cctv recording of the pair having a social drink in a London bar a few days before a contract was signed. Its all does look a little cloak and dagger and Arscott should feel lucky to have got off scott free this time. Im sure the F.A will be watching all things transfer at Highbury over the coming season so thing need to be kept completely above board or Arsenal could once again put there prem and super rich status at risk once more.

The York City manager today said that he wasn't upset by failing to win the Manager of the Season award and instead declared that he thought that the Southampton manager was fully deserving of the award. "I used my vote to vote for Southampton" said the York manager. "He was very lucky last season to get to an FA Cup Final and he only got promoted because of injuries to Charlton, but then again Charlton did cheat to get above him in the first place. Of all the managers, Southampton certainly did the best, but they were only Manager of the Season as the squad is so shite."

Newbould refused to get dragged into the slanging match that the Southampton fans are starting as he made only one comment about him being "a half-wit". The York supremo said, "it is not for me to put those simpletons down on the South Coast. If they believe that I am a half-wit, then they can. After all, Southampton's defence is totally reliant on F_D_D_Craig, and he was only good because of our youth academy and the experience he got in his first season at York City."

In a surprise announcement the York manager admitted to not be looking forward to the new season. "A few of the lads who were in charge of the team drinking sessions have decided to retire" said the York manager. "This means that not only do we not have 1 decent opponent to play against next season, but I'll have to get a few more players in from outside, and amazingly pro footballers nowadays don't drink much. Maradona was either pissed, on charlie or fucking a hooker just before kick-off, and it never did him any harm. I make sure that Hope goes onto the pitch after a pint of vodka and Iker is useless without his 12 pint warm-up. We've got McGurk in the team now, and he's learning to drink, but it'll all take time"

The final comment was left to Iker/Stockdale who emerged from the local pub to say, "I fucking hate Southampton. They're all shit and garbage and crap and poo. I spit on them. Where's my kebab?"

Bradford City enter into season 10 on the back of a very dissapointing campaing which saw them relegated from the Premiership. Manager Matt Birch
looks back on the season and ahead to the future "Last season was a massive shock. We had expected mid-table but ended up rock bottom. We failed to
perform in the league which was strange when you consider our cup form was once again excellent. Trying to dissect what went wrong we can only look at
our defence. I made huge sacrifices in this department and the move did not pay off. But that is now in the past and we have to look ahead to the future
and take stock. We had a long term plan to reach the Premiership and I think the problem is
that we achieved this goal far too quickly. We didn't have enough time to prepare for that challenge and it has cost us dearly. However the board have
stuck by me and given me all the backing I wanted which is why I have drawn up a new plan of action to take us back to the top. This season is all about
rebuilding. We have made a mass of transfers and are taking a huge gamble on 6 unknown youngsters the scouts have tipped us off about. They are going to
take time to blood in but by the end of the season we should know if we have uncovered any stars of the future. We have also strengthened our midfield
and brought in a huge amount of squad players, two problems which cost us last season. We expect to get relegated so anything better will be a bonus.
Season 11 will be consolidating and focussing on the future and getting everyone in shape to climb back up the leagues. Season 12 will be aiming for promotion to Division 1 or if we are still in that division we will be
aiming for a strong top half finish. It will be season 13 when we hope to get lucky and get back into the Premiership. It is a very long term plan but it is what I have proven myself at succeeding in. Everyone around the club has every confidence we are making moves in the right direction. One step back and two steps forward is still a positive move".

Mass changes at Birmingham

The closed-season has seen large-scale changes in personnel at div three Birmingham City. All 3 youth stars from last season (P Green, M Birley and C Cottrill) have been given long-term first-team contracts, and are expected to shine for the Blues this year. To keep wages manageable, and to allow some of the younger reserve players a chance to develop over time, a number of familiar names from last season have been offered for transfer.
First on the list of leavers is striker Clinton Morrison, who struggled for form last season, flitting between the reserves and the first-team and spending a lot of time on the bench. He lost out to Robbie Blake in the battle to be starting striker in an enforced 451 system, designed to accommodate the 3 youth players introduced. Morrison was sold to part-finance the much-anticipated arrival of the legend that is Raul: the talismatic record-scorer for the Spanish national side. Last season Raul terrorised div three defences at surprise package Tottenham Hotspurs, and this time-round he is expected to add real venom to the Brum attack.
Also leaving (amongst others) are past favourites D Anderton, S Clemence, O Tebily and K Cunningham. It is believed that club manager Chris Knight was disappointed with last year's developments within the Birmingham academy and reserve sqauds and he has decided to nurture more academy talent over the long-term rather than use the reserves "to pamper to a bunch of wasters and has-beens". Fans expressed surprise that former England 'striker' Heskey was being kept on for another season.

St Mary's to St Jimmy's?

After a week of celebrating promotion to the Premiership, Manager Jim Leslie was voted manager of the season by his fellow professionals. "It is a great honour to voted the best by your fellow professionals. I know I have set myself a high standard and it will be hard to match that next season. Survival in the premiership is the aim next season, however it will be a hard task."
Southampton fans queued outside St Mary's when they found out the decision and lavished praise upon their manager.
"Leslie is one of the greatest managers in the league and this decision proves it". Said one, "Jimbo is the greatest, we'll win the league next season no problem", said another. The general consensus was that Leslie is a fantastic manager and the fans hope to keep him for as long as possible. Other fans just started insulting other clubs around the country instead of sticking to the topic. "Thank god we haven't got that halfwit Richard Newbould in charge. We'd be in the bottom division with him. Without the best keeper in the world, he wouldn't have a clue how to manage a football team. And that Leeds manager, she's a joke. Two relegations in two seasons. Thats a bit rubbish. With a squad like that she should have been promoted last season not relegated."
One Southampton fan declared they wanted a poll to change the name of the stadium from St Mary's to St Jimmy's. "Its quite obvious who Green Day were singing about on American Idiot. And I think we should show some respect to him as well by renaming the stadium to St Jimmy's. It would be the perfect ending to a perfect season for a perfect manager".
