Bradford Buzzing Rumours coming out of Valley Parade this week
have left the whole citybuzzing with anticipation. Reports have it that Bradford
City boss Matt Birch is breaking his long standing tradition of buying young prospects and
is heading into the transfer market with an audatious bid for Bayern Munich and
Brazil legend Ronaldinho (32). With only a couple of seasons left before his
retirement this would be a bold move from the Bantams boss and the price tag being
touted makes this a massive gamble. More news as it happens...
Tensions
mounting at Bradford Bradford City have started the Season 11 campaign
with a shock 7 match unbeaten streak culminating with a massive surprise win over
Qindao Zhongeng in the IWC. Bradford now find themselves in the unexpected position
of being in position to qualify from their IWC group, being third in the Division
1 table and also having to defend their unbeaten run. A season which was supposed
to be about consolidation and rebuilding with little pressure on the management
and the team has suddenly become much tenser with so much to play for. The Bradford
manager was unavailable for comment but club captain Stuart McCall gave us a brief
statement "Obviously as a club we are delighted to be in the position we
are in. Nobody expects to lose all the time but we had realistic aims at the
start of the season and our expectations and hopes have been far exceeded. We
all know that this purple patch will come to an end sooner rather than later
but if we somehow manage to maintain our current form then who knows what might
happen this season? We are not getting carried away and we still have our eyes
firmly set on consolidation as we know that every game we play can easily be the
one that brings us crashing back down to earth so we need to just focus on each
game as it comes and if we aim for a point per game that would be enough for us,
any more than that is always a bonus."
First
win of the season Finally, after many weeks of waiting, Middlesbrough
finally have a win to their name. This weekend in the Inter wing Cup, Middlesbrough
thrashed Brondby 3-0 to record their first win. Manager Matt Peacock said, "Obviusly
its a great relief to get the win, and it now takes a weight of my back and the
players back. Hopefully we can build on this and beat Huddersfield in the F.A
Cup.". The win came at a cost however, as new youth team player Kyel Reid
suffered a pulled hamstring , and will be out for a while. "Its a big blow,
Reid was looking promosing", Peacock said, "Now he's torn his hamstring
and it seems he'll be out for around a month. He may aswell die as far as i'm
concerned, there's no point in playing. The Brondby player that did this better
watch out, i'm gonna f*ck him up good". Peacock was later fined for
his comments, and the police are looking into the incident.

Ronaldinho joins the Bantams Bradford City today confirmed the
capture of Brazilian legend Ronaldinho from Bayern Munich. Fans were said to be
cock a hoop and shirt sales have gone through the roof. We managed to catch
up with boss Matt Birch amid the hysteria for a few words "Delighted, absolutely
thrilled. This is a massive signing for this club and puts us firmly on the map
as one of the big boys, a team to be feared. Signing Balakov is just amazing.
For such a young lad he's got so much potential he's going to be brilliant for
us. And to get Ronaldinho into the bargain isn't bad either".
Bantams
building from the back Bradford City have had an unbeaten start to the
new campaign, going an incredible nine games without defeat as they head into
the crunch FA Cup first round tie away to Premiership Everton. Even if (as expected)
the unbeaten run comes to an end on Sunday it will still be a great testament
to the stubborn defence City have shown this season. From nine games they have
only conceded four goals and this has helped them into pole position in their
IWC group as well as into third place in Division 1. City fans were a bit
nervous at the start of the season with two youths being blooded in the first
team as well as a massive upheaval in personnel but the players have all settled
quickly and the expected transfer rush in a few weeks time doesn't look like
rocking the boat too much either. While a large number of transfers are due to
be completed, the base of the team will remain. Four of the five defenders
will remain whilst Matty Clarke will be replaced by Riddick who returns to his
old club from a short stay at Arsenal so he will know the players and staff already
very well. This means that the mighty Stanley Menzo will not have to worry about
the defence in front of him taking any time to settle in together. Up front
the massive signing of Ronaldinho will prove the most interesting change as he
will only be passing through the club on his way to Arsenal and may not be given
a game by the City manager. The most upheaval will be coming in midfield with
Jewell, McCall and Muirhead being replaced by Daly, Burton and Nilmar but with
Tonton Zola Moukoko having taken over the captains armband last week and guiding
the team to a massive 6-0 trouncing of Bayern Munich it is not thought that he
will have much problem in getting his new midfield trio settled in. The future
is looking bright for the Valley Parade outfit and even if their form takes a
slight dip in the next month, they still look good enough to avoid relegation
in the league which was the only aim at the start of the season.
Bradford
City get aggressive in the transfer market Bradford City have recently
gotten aggressive on the transfer front with a succession of high profile transfers
being completed and with a massive fifty million plus in the kitty it is expected
that they will start a massive pro-active campaign to try and sign a star or two
over the coming weeks. Just this week they have been rebuffed by four managers
not willing to succumb to their strong arm tactics of trying to buy players but
sooner or later it is expected that a bid will be accepted.
